Instruction course for interested people over the age of 18 in the summer season 2026
The instruction course is for anyone who has never rowed before or has very limited experience with rowing. Rowing is a great sport! Since rowing is a sport that takes place on the water, safety is important. Therefore, we have made the following checklist, which can give you an indication of whether rowing may be something for you:
Rowing is a technical sport and can be difficult at first. It is therefore important that you come at least 1-2 times a week at the beginning of your course, so that you do not have to start over with the technique every time you are out rowing.
Rowing is a sport that takes a little more time than many other sports. You should expect 21/2 - 3 hours each time. You have to rig the boat and put it in the water, row, and when you get home, the boats have to be unrigged and washed.
It is volunteers who are behind everything that goes on in the club, this also applies to the instruction. Therefore, you must also be a little outreach yourself during the process.
Rowing is a sport where we are dependent on each other, for example, there must always be 3 people for you to be able to get out and row in an inrigger. On the other hand, it is a very social sport where in addition to exercising and getting fresh air, we also have fun and talk and get to see Copenhagen harbor, maybe docked and drink coffee somewhere. Look forward to many fantastic experiences in Københavns Roklub.

Fees
The summer course fee is 2100 DKK and both the instruction course and three months club membership (currently 970 DKK). The fee allows you to participate in the club's various activities as well as use of our indoor training facilities. At the end of the course, an instructor will release you to the world of rowing. You are welcome to participate in all activities that the club offers. You can find descriptions of the different groups and their training programs on our website in "the little book". In September, there is an official ceremony where you must be "baptized" as a new rower, followed by dinner and a party. And if you reach 1000 km on the water during the season, we have a special surprise for you!

Winter start
We also offer a winter course that starts on Monday 23 February 2026. It takes place 5 Mondays from 17-18.30.
The first time there will be instruction for training in an ergometer. After that, the team will participate in the training on the other Mondays together with the members who train at 17-18 pm.
Thereafter, there will be half an hour of training in the club's rowing bassin from 18-18.30 pm. Here, the rowing stroke will be rehearsed along with instruction in the various rowing commands.
When we enter the summer season, i.e. from April, the new rowers 2 and 2 will be assigned a mentor, and the instruction will take place on the water. You meet once or twice a week by agreement with the mentor. When the mentor assesses that the new rowers have acquired the necessary skills, the mentor will release them, and they can participate in the club's regular activities.
